It is a privilege to serve the community of Merrimac as Principal of the Dr. Frederick N. Sweetsir School. My primary focus is to provide a safe, caring environment that promotes a love of learning. As an elementary school, our goal is to help children develop the skills, both academically and socially, to provide a solid foundation for them to be successful throughout their school career and lifetime.
At Sweetsir, we have a highly qualified, professional team of educators dedicated to meeting the educational needs of all children. Through ongoing professional development and collaboration, we continually strive to maximize student learning and achievement.
We are also fortunate to have a wonderful Volunteer Program and active PTO. They provide us with many activities, supplies and programs to enrich our curriculum and beautify our school grounds. I welcome parents, and other community members, to become involved. Children love when family members read to their class, help in the library, assist teachers with photocopying and participate in school events.
Parents, I encourage you to join us as partners in your child’s education. Communicate frequently with your child’s teacher, join the PTO and come visit us!
